UTI Testing & Treatment

To find out if the patient has a UTI, the pharmacist may perform a urine test. Sometimes all that's needed is advice on self-care. In addition to painkillers, the community pharmacist can prescribe antibiotics if necessary for the patient. Women should always be given advice on what to do if the symptoms get more severe or persist rather than go away.

Without needing to wait for a doctor's appointment, women can be evaluated and treated considerably faster thanks to the Pharmacy First UTI service. Community pharmacies are more likely to be open after regular business hours, on weekends, and on bank holidays. Patients won't even need an appointment.

The service is part of Pharmacy First and is available for women aged 16 to 64.

Ostomy Care

Woodbourne Pharmacy can provide barrier rings, pouch systems, ostomy bags, and other required equipment. as well as providing support and guidance when needed.

Undoubtedly, getting a colostomy or urostomy bag fitted is a life-changing experience, which can often be inconvenient due to the many shortages within these items, which we appreciate can be irritating, but we are always happy to try to source any item you need. Please talk to the pharmacist if there is any way we can help.

You are not alone, and assistance is available if you have managed to accumulate a supply of those outdated and unused prescription drugs. When appropriate, Woodbourne Pharmacy can recycle the packaging and safely dispose of expired medications.
